Freezing Weather in Vegas

Instead of draining my pressure breakers this year, does just covering them with a bucket offer enough protection? I cant imagine we will get hit with that cold freeze snap we got hit with last year.

RE: Freezing Weather in Vegas

If you are going to do something like that, I'd suggest wrapping them in bubble wrap (and taping it with something like duct tape), then putting cheap styrofoam coolers over them. You could probably get all the cheap styrofoam coolers you want for free by calling the Nevada Cancer Institute and asking to speak to one of the research labs. Life science and medical research laboratories get stuff almost daily that has to be shipped on ice or dry ice, and it comes in styrofoam coolers. Someone coming by to take the dang things off their hands means that: 1) they are getting recycled and 2) they don't have to take time to get them ready to ship back to anyone to get them recycled. Take it from a former lab tech--anyone who wanted my styrofoam coolers was welcome to 'em!
