dividing oriental lilies

My oriental lilies bulbs are 6 to 8 inches in diameter. Should I just start pulling these apart? Plant the viable scales and keep the main bulb about 2 inches in diameter?

    Personally I would only do this if you want to spread them around. Lilies don't seem to mind being bunched up like this, and I think they look better. But then, mine aren't that big, lol. I only wish!
