Website to find right Evergreen?

Posted by garrai81 (My Page) on

I am trying to find an evergreen that stops at about 10 feet tall and 5 feet wide, and that can handle sun until about 5 pm.
(Moderate to fast-growing)

Is there a website where one can enter these criteria and get some recommendations?

I looked at the Irish Eye Cypress, but it gets a little too big.

Thanks.

People will be happy to make suggestions on the GardenWeb Conifers forum.

um, is this a trick question? you posted those requirements to THIS website. and people here can give you recommendations....

i'll anticipate the usual response, plants don't really STOP growing at a certain predetermined height. probably what you really are looking for is something that grows moderately that won't get too tall too fast, or something that is OK with pruning.

arbutus unedo? a large growing manzanita? loquat? mountain hemlock? garrya elyptica?

I'll guess an evergreen vine on a trellis.
There's a few people that would love this question on the Conifer Forum!
