All commercial blueberry cultivars (Table 1) released by the U.S. Department of Agriculture and state universities over the past 60 years have resulted from crosses with wild blueberry species indigenous to the eastern United States. These cultivars have performed very well in the Pacific Northwest. Season of ripening (early July through mid-September), yield, plant-growth habit, fruit size, color, flavor (sugar/acid ratio, aromatic components), and susceptibility to pathogens distinguish one cultivar from another. Home gardeners may wish to plant three to four different cultivars having varying ripening periods to extend the harvest season

The two that I grow that are my favorites are Elliot and Olympia. Elliot in particular ripens early and bore a lot more berries when it was young. It is also the most attractive looking bush.

I've never heard of a bad blueberry cultivar. I'd select the best looking plant. Bad birds though and virus infections may occur on any variety. Nothing to do with the cultivar.

I have a lot of different blueberries, my favorites are the late season ones which seem to get bigger and fruit longer, and have bigger berries- Herbert, Berkeley, and mid season Bluecrop, Blueray. I also like evergreen Legacy, Sunshine Blue, and Misty, which can really be loaded and have a slightly different flavor.
