We have two large areas of Armeria maritima (thrift) that were here when we moved in almost 4 years ago. They've done well--flower a lot. But now there are large brown sections in both of them. Should I take a spade and cut through those parts and dig them out? Will the rest of the plants fill in or do I need to buy something else to go there?
Thank!
