"I guess that boycott didn't stick. How soon we forget." Botann, explain please. Are you referring to the T&M thread? I don't do business with T&M. What does that have to do with Burpee?

Muddydogs, I did end up buying online. I couldn't find the seeds I wanted at the retail stores. Also, I think the seed count is higher if you buy directly from them. But they really whack you with shipping charges online($8.95). Nasty.

Many people in the Northwest have strong feelings against Burpee because of their mishandling of Heronswood Nursery after they purchased it from Dan Hinkley. And much was said about it on this forum... just go to the bottom and search for 'Heronswood'. Who needs Heronswood anyways... I'm off to WalMart to get my Burpee seeds!

Botann, it stuck here - I haven't purchased anything that would benefit George Ball and it's not likely I will. I'm another who hasn't had exceptional germination with Thompson/Morgan...Approx 75% of my perennial/shrub seeds the last few years have come from Chiltern Seeds, no complaints at all with theirs. The Chiltern VegBook looked interesting and I've browsed through it but I'm not planning a vegetable garden this year so haven't ordered from it.
