Physics of Rhubarb and Cherry Petals

The petals from a 50+ foot cherry tree two lots away fall on the ground (notice random petal pattern on the 16" stepper). On the mostly flat rhubarb leaves, cherry petals migrate to the leaf veins, slightly lower than the rest of the leaf. Early-maturing rhubarb, light breezes, and a very dry day combined to let this happen.
