Northwestern Gardening

(Probably) native plant ID. Sorry, no picture

It's a low, mat forming plant that grows right above the high tide line on Marrowstone Island and on the northwest Washington Coast (probably some places in between too). It looks a lot like a Hebe with small green leaves - it's quite appealing. I haven't seen the flowers. Any ideas?

I finally got one right. Yeah!

I started getting interested in natives about 5 years ago since I manage to kill most everything I try to grow.
Last summer the family was on the Peninsula and I noticed it. The plants were covered in flies.

This one is lovely, but it needs lean sand, and I have clay. I hope it works for you. Good Luck.
