Rooting Choizya cuttings

Gunnar's Mom

Hello,

I have, rather had, a 4' Choizya Aztec Pearl that was flattened by wet snow over the winter. I fluffed it back up when the snow melted but notice it kept leaning over. In bud, it was quite top heavy and leaned more.

Last week a baskteball and 2 boyz in hot persuit ran into the leaning tower of choizya and the main stem split vertically to within 3" of the soil line. Now I have many branches, still in bud laying on the ground.

I can take greenwood cuttings I suppose, but is there any hope of rooting the hardwood and getting a more mature plant? Or, do I just kiss the poor thing goodbye?
