Sun damaged camellia japonica

arcatamarcia

I transplanted a mature camellia japonica last year. Its leaves have continuously yellowed since then. This year it had very few flowers and most of the ones it did get were very brown around the edges. I'm planning to feed and water it quite a bit this summer and give it lots of attention to see if I can restore it to its previously glory. I also thought I would give it a pretty severe pruning all over to cut away the yellow and allow the green undergrowth more sun. My questions are 1) does that sound like a good plan, or is there something else I should do and 2) should I do the pruning now, or wait until fall.
