Last month a teenage driver took out the wing wall on my porch steps. A brick mason came and fixed the brick and the stucco. There was a good sized rhody there. I took it out so the mason could work. I'm concerned about putting it back because of the alkali leaching from the new brickwork. What do you all suggest?

Planting it somewhere else, rather than trying to change the soil chemistry - and keep it changed. You may not have to go very far out from the wall to be safe.
