I know Cedar grove compost picks up yardwaste and composts it, which is all well and good, but how do they keep traqsh out of it ? My husband for one does not care and sometimes throws things that should not be in there (I told him they have fines for throwing trash in - an now he does better !;) )

Basically what if someone throws chemicals, batteries or plastic into their yardwaste bins ? especially plastic which will become smaller and smaller till it can enter the bodies of animals and do its endocrine disrupting magic- like it does to fish in the ocean) I realize there are no animals eating soil, however wont it affect plants ? or the little worms that eat the soil ?

does CG go through it and remove them ?

If not is there any bulk source of purely green and brown compost ie., no-one adding funky things ? thanks
