I've gotten a couple of lemon plants from them before, on separate occasions - both stone fruits. One never grew after planting, looked dead when they pulled it out of the warehouse for me.

The other leafed out partly dead, grew feebly afterwards. After a time I jerked it.

Scrape the bark, see if it is green underneath.

I scraped a little bark, looks like that it's still green. Maybe I should give it a little more time ?

I suggest waiting. Persimmons when first planted are very slow to bud. The first year I planted my Fuyu persimmon,it didn't bud until June. Patience my friend, patience. And if it has died back, more time will allow for it to sprout from the base above the rootstock. This way you can cut the dead wood above the sprout and allow the new growth to resurrect your tree. Can anyone comment on what rootstock One Green World would use for persimmons and what one could expect if the top died and the rootstock grew, in terms of fruit? I know persimmon leaves can be used for fruit so it would not be a total loss.

Please do not pull it. I planted one last year and it did nothing until super late (bought it at City People). They asked me to wait and it leafed out super late. What a relief. This year it has leafed out already so I suspect it will earlier and earlier as it matures.
