Please help me ID this tree!

I need to ID this tree before I use all the leaves I've collected to make compost. I've heard of some trees, such as oak, whose leaves should not be used to make compost. My best guess is some sort of Locust. ok, GO! :-)

I will definitely get that book. There's an evergreen I've been wondering about for awhile, the one that grows in a perfect cone. There are some beautiful trees down there. I got stuck in one once, but I already know what that one was. ;-)

Perfect cone is probably Sequoiadendron giganteum. There are also some Pinus flexilis 'Vanderwolf's Pyramid' in the park. There are small signs on some of the trees saying what they are, I believe Seattle Parks paid Jacobson to do this at one point.
