FYI Moles are carnivores, they eat worms and grubs not plants. |

| Thanks for reply. I really was surprised, I thought they will destroy my plants. I suppose I will let him be then. |

| Moles will dig under your plants leaving the roots bare so they can't get water. Cauliflower needs a lot of water so you might want to make sure there isn't a hole in the soil underground. I've found that field mice use the mole runs, too, and they do eat plants. |

Cats. I can't say enough in favor of the cat mole relationship. I watch a mole literally eat my blooming tulip bed right before my eyes. I have heard that moles detest mint but I have not seen this for certain as they seem to hate the cats more. |

| I've had to make chicken wire cages to plant things in to keep the moles from plowing through young root systems or pushing them out of the ground. I've lost several plants to them. The cages have helped a lot, especially with my vegies. It will rust out after a couple of years, but that's enough time for shrubs to grow and be able to tolerate some damage. Some will kill the grubs and worms, their food source, to keep them away, but I like having the worms around. Good luck! |

| Urine! Animal or human...I don't know whether it is the scent alone, or whether they don't want to mess up their fur coats. Pour urine in their tunnels, then reclose the hole with soil. I haven't chased them completely out of my yard yet, but they will go for weeks without reusing existing tunnels. |
