The squirrels did some planting in my garden mulch over the winter, and I'm trying to figure out what these are. I'm in Olympia if that helps anything.

Both are from a smooth brown nut that reminds me of an acorn without the cap, but are obviously not oaks. I'm probably going to dig them to transplant soon, so I could take a photo of the nut if it's still there, probably later this week.

They also planted a couple of walnuts that have sprouted. If I plant those near existing trees/plants, will they kill the other plants as they grow? I'm primarily concerned about some very large evergreens- the kind that would be very expensive to remove- so I figured I'd ask.
