My dahlias are blooming. I can't remember ever having dahlias bloom in June!
Anybody else?

RE: Dahlias

I see the smaller varieties in bloom now around SE Portland, it happens most years.

For the big stuff, Swan Island Dahlias out of Canby has their annual showing in September.

RE: Dahlias

Yes, I see the smaller ones in nurseries. These are my regular dahlias gown for years in my garden. Never bloomed before August! If I knew how to post a photo I would. Very very unusual.

I just saw my first buds on a plant that usually doesn't get started til mid-late July, so I'd say we're ahead of schedule this year!

RE: Dahlias

I'm on Vancouver Island, I've got three dahlias around 4-5 feet tall with several blooms, and lots of buds on several others. We've had a lot of rain so I thought that might have contributed. Never in June before. I've also got some crocomosia blooming too!

RE: Dahlias

I"m seeing buds on a couple of my plants too. Strange indeed! But then my tomatoes are way more advanced this year too.

RE: Dahlias

My wife's dahlias are beginning to bloom as well. No idea what type they are.
