Interesting Garden Tour & deer

Yesterday was our local garden tour. We visited 6 lovely gardens and none of them were deer fenced. All of them have deer visiting often but it was quite interesting to see how people are coping with Bambis. I spoke with most of the owners and asked about deer problems. They had discovered varieties of plants that were not browsed. One owner told me that they find that deciduous azaleas are browsed when they are young but once they are established and about 30 inches tall they are left alone. I always appreciate the owners who go the "extra mile" to make their gardens so beautiful for others to enjoy. There were more than 250 people who took the tour and these owners were very generous in giving us a lovely spring day spent in beautiful surroundings.
