English gardens

I am leaving soon for a tour of English country gardens and houses..... N. England and Wales.... and it should be interesting to compare conditions with here. They have had an unusually warm and dry period..... unlike us. I am curious to see if they are advanced in growth or if they are suffering from lack of rain!

Since precipitation is normally spread throughout the year there, when they do have anything like a typical PNW summer it can be considered a worst-in-100-years drought. It is not usual to install irrigation systems and many plants may be lost if the rains stop a long enough time.
