| Well, if my mom should not have a Ficus benjamina in an outside container, what can she have?
I am so into my own rocky mountain world that I really can't think of much except a climbing rose or clematis.
If you have any good ideas, I'd love to know 'em!
Thanks again,
J.
Oh, and for the record, she lives in Toledo, Oregon (not sure of the zone) which is just in from the coast by one city, Newport. They do get a teeny tiny bit of snow, but not much. |

| I have 2 pots with Japanese Maples in them. Yes, they are deciduous, but the form of the trunk and branches in the wintertime is very attractive. If you go this route, make sure it is a small-growing variety. One of ours has been in a pot for 20 years and is about 8 feet tall. We hang suet feeders on its branches in the wintertime and attract lots of birds. |

| Thanks, Dotty! I was thinking that japanese maples might be nice, seeing as how there are so many of them up there! Thanks a bunch, J. |
