Question regarding watering frequency for roses during heat

Hi,

I live in Vancouver, WA and the soil in my yard is a lot of clay. I have planted roses in my yard with lots of southern exposure - almost full sun all day long. Some of the roses are planted in clay that I amended with raised bed soil (probably 70% clay, 30% raised bed soil). Others are planted in raised beds with raised bed soil and a little clay (about 30% clay, 70% raised bed soil). All of the roses were planted this year.

In the 70% rb/30% clay I have: 2 climbing (both Iceberg), a David Austin (Abraham Darby) and 2 hybrid teas (Double Delight and Tahitian Sunset).

In the 70% clay/30% rb I have: 2 hybrid teas (Blue Girl and Kordes Perfecta).

Now that we are going to be seeing temperatures in the upper 80s, how often should I water? Do I only water when the soil is dry to 3 inches deep? Any other rules of thumb I should follow.

I am new to gardening and would appreciate any advice you might have.

Thanks!
