Looking for Tree suggestions

I am looking for suggestions for a tree for the front yard that will be columnar and block the view from our home to across the street. (They are developing the area across the street from us.) If you say arborvitae, I will slap you with juniper branches. I want something that has some character. Suggestions?
The weeping cedar just does not quite look right.
