Maple for large container

I posted earlier in the spring about browning leaves on my Autumn Moon maple. I have it in a large container in full PNW sun :) on a wooden deck. Even with our cold, wet year the leaves are burnt and have browned every spring since I first purchased it. I am due to re-pot this year and I would like to get a different maple for this spot...one that is happy in the sun in a container. It is a focal point of my small backyard. I would love to hear suggestions. I am not fond of the maroon maples but otherwise open. I LOVE the new red bark snakebarks with the variegated leaves.

Any ideas?

Maybe a 'Flamingo' box elder, cut back end of each winter to remain small.

I have a Koto No Ito in a container that has been doing well for several years in full sun; ditto for my Lion's Head Maple. I really love the leaves on the lion's head and think it makes a great statement. I also have a new Shindeshojo in the same area that's been doing well- it's got bright pink leaves in the spring and now it is still mostly pink with some green dappling- very different and a nice focal point.
