Yes, you can sow them with a little effort. Harvest the red seeds when ripe (usually some time next month), then scrub the seeds a couple of times per day over a period of a few days to get that oily red 'fruit' flesh off, it contains a germination inhibitor so you don't want to leave it on. Adding a few drops of dish soap when scrubbing may help, then rinse. Sow this Fall, don't store the seeds. If rains haven't begun and you have decorative plants in containers outside, put the seed pots with those where you will be reminded to water occasionally....assuming you don't have a cold frame or unheated greenhouse.

Leave them out over winter and in Spring you should have germination. You may have to protect from sparrows if those are common in your neighborhood, length of chicken wire or window screening, just don't exclude the rain. Use a good quality container mix formulated for mature plants in pots, not a seed starting mix, if sowing and leaving outdoors.

An alternative would be to clean the seeds, sow them indoors or put them in a tiny zip lock with sterile moist sand or sterile moist vermiculite and leave that on your desk several weeks. Then put into the refrigerator for approximately 3 months, bring back to warmer and begin to watch for germination. Truthfully, outside can be easier :) You may want to top the pot with some chick grit or bird gravel to help keep moss or algae from forming on the surface, helpful with those pots we know will be with us for a few months.
