| Hi,
I saw this flower in front of a cafe in Auburn and was wondering what it is. At first I thought it was a dahlia but I don't think it is. http://www.flickr.com/photos/winsorw-garden/?saved=1 Thank you. |
Here is a link that might be useful: Photo of the flower in question

| Hi Jean001a, I am sorry, it should be there now. Thank you for letting me know. |
|
| I believe it is a dahlia. |

| Dahlia, similar to variety "Wheels" or "Wowie", see dahlias dot com, then use "all dahlias" menu link for an alpabetical listing with images. Your dahlia is on the last page. |

| Thanks Larry_gene, I appreciate the help. |
|
| If it is a dahlia, what is it's name (variety)? Thanks. |

| The varietal name could be Wowie or Wheels, mentioned above. There are several dahlia varieties exhibiting the petal & stamen pattern of your image. I have been to Swan Island Dahlias several times, but know nothing about the genus/species of these plants. The annual tours there probably start any weekend now. |
