Panting garlic and shallots

Hi!

I am wondering when is planting season of garlic and shallots ends?

The problem is that because of everything growing slower in the NW the store is still waiting for bulbs to arrive. They say it is going to be here somewhere during next week. They say it is not too late to plant next week. I doubt it cause I know you should plant garlic before September 15, or may be I am wrong?

It probably depends on where you are, but here in Zone 8/7 I've planted them as late as November and had good luck. I live at 1100 feet elevation, and while I'm officially Zone 8, most often Zone 7 is a better bet.

You might want to check in at the garlic forum on this site. Lots and lots of good information from hobby gardeners as well as the professionals.
