Check out the free plant swaps the Pacific Northwest Garden Exchange Forum. Held on Saturday mornings: one in Olympia Oct. 15 & the Green Elephant in Redmond on Nov.5. There are usually native plants as well as many of us have wild areas of our yards, too. What grows well will be shared at these swaps because it's what has multiplied in their own gardens.

Print out a deer resistant list of plants to bring with you.

Deer will nibble on things supposedly on the deer resistant list when hungry or as fawns, so it's not a for sure thing. The deer don't touch my tall sedums here outside of Seattle toward the foothills, but won't leave them alone at our in-laws yard on Whidbey Island.

It also seems that the deer here select some area to nibble & keep coming back to it leaving other plantings of the exact same plant alone. I try to figure them out, but just have to share my gardens with them & anything I really care about that is "deer candy" like lilies need to be grown in the fenced backyard.
