lamium maculatum White Nancy - powdery mildew?

Hi-

I have had many azaleas growing in my side shade garden for the last fifteen years and have never once had a problem of powdery mildew with them.

However, this year several do have it. I'm trying to think about why. My watering patterns and the site are the same. So did they get it from something I planted nearby? If so, I would like to eliminate that plant. I did plant several new plants this year. Among them were several lamium maculatum White Nancy. Could these have it and be spreading it to the azaleas? The lamium looks like it's flourishing and healthy and it has spread in the most lovely way. But it does have those whitish leaves so it would be hard for me to know if it had the powdery mildew problem. The leaves, however, are not deformed and look fine.

Does anyone have any ideas about what could be going on. I mean, is lamium maculatum notorious for having powdery mildew, or not so much?
