I think they're commonly called painted daisies and they come in many colors and bicolors.

Similar in appearance, Jim...and may be related, but I don't think it quite matches. None of the C. carinatum pics I viewed showed blooms as double as some of mine.

It is an annual that self-sows, but not generally in a nuisance manner. For me, it germinated quickly & readily under lights...took longer to appear when direct seeded outdoors. Probably a good cut flower, especially for short-stemmed bouquets.

Thompson & Morgan have a double form, Primrose Gem, that looks very nice. Asians who eat them have several forms for several different culinary applications. They are rather strong-tasting so may take a little getting used to and are best when very young, though the flowers can be eaten, mainly the petals, or used for tea.
