Photo -- Name this flower!

Aftermidnight gave me a cutting last year, and this evening the most amazing flower has bloomed! It's about 4 inches across and has a wonderful fragrance. It's similar to a Night Blooming Cereus, but the plant is smaller...Have a look, and thanks Annette!

Here is a link that might be useful: Lovely flower

Dotty I can point you at two possibles, it's either Cryptocereus anthonyanus or Epiphyllum anguliger I think I have both but which one is it? The strap-like leaves on my two are similar but different, one is very ric rac-ish, the other has rounder softer curves. One I got as an unnamed cutting, the other named but the name has faded on the tag. I repotted both of mine this summer so no blooms this year.
For me they usually both set buds in September, have similar flowers (fragrant) throughout the fall and well into winter.
I've always meant to search out which is which when they are blooming but have never got around to it.

AM, I believe it is Epiphyllum anguliger. You gave me cuttings from both, but this is the first to bloom. And, thanks again, it is lovely! It's not such a rampant grower as the Cereus so much nicer to have as a house plant. It's interesting that the flower stem emerges from an indented part of the leaf, instead of from a point like the Epiphyllum and Christmas Cactus.

A fragrant cactus?! I just googled epiphyllum anguliger, and it's a *wow* for sure. Does it require lots of light?

You're right flyleft, it's a stunner. I put it outside for the summer with my orchids in a shady spot and when I looked at it in September, it had 3 buds on a very small plant. I promise next year, I'll baby it more. The bud starts out quite red, but by the time it flowers, the outside sepals are a light orange and the inside is pure white. It's well worth houseroom.

That's a beauty for sure! I'll be posting a 'cuttings wanted' on the trading forum for that one...
