Are those castor bean plants on the right? I had no idea they could get so huge. Did you grow them from seed? I always thought they were annuals, but it looks like you're wintering them over. Cool pictures.

The tropical garden is incredible, especially considering how miserable the growing conditions were in Summer '07. I don't have much experience growing tropicals, but would suggest you try the red ensete bananas; we grew them along the road at the nursery I work at and they thrived with such brilliantly red edged leaves and deep red stems. Amazing. I really love your garden!
