I just added downloaded some more pics on my computer. These are a timeline from my yard last summer. I took a pic every Tuesday morning for 18 weeks - the last pic was a few weeks late.... I used a disposable camera...Happy Winter...

Cool photos! You must love sitting on your deck. As you can tell I love bananas! I just let all mine die this year (sniff, sniff). They were taking over the house during the winter. I have tried basjoo twice without luck. Just this last year I went to Dr. Franko's talk at Cox Arboretum and learned how to plant them properly. So, I will have to try some perennial bananas again. Tried a palm that was growing great till my hubby weed wacked it. He showed me what he did and it was the first time in our 10 yr married life I had to walk away before I did bodily harm. Have you seen Dr. Franko's garden at Miami University? If you haven't you would probably get a real kick out of it.

Hey banana, I have Franko's book. I haven't seen his garden yet. I may check it out sometime this summer. I have musa basjoos and cavendishes. I leave the musa basjoos outside year round and lug the cavendishes down to my basement every fall...every year I lug less and less - only three this time...as I grow more confident that my basjoos will come back...I hope this cold winter won't effect them too much...Keep my fingers crossed!
