| stewartia is considered marginally hardy in this area regardless of what the big nurseries say. If you locate one then make sure you take advantage of a microclimate when planting it. i just adore stewartia!! I have tried it once to no avail but the grower in pennsylvania warned me that it was risky. |

| I am well aware of the microclimate issue...however, this one isn't in a microclimate at all....full fledged exposed area on top of a glacial moraine. I'm not saying you're incorrect, I'm saying I'm very surprised. |
