Is there a Columbus pond plant store??

I'm looking for an aquatic plants store in or near Columbus ohio. I hate to mail order when I could just pick up, but internet searches are not returning any matches for me.

I have a few specifics like Black Magic taro I may still have to order but I'm sure a local store would carry mostly what I'm looking for.

Thanks!
Athens is another place I travel to regularly if anyone is aware of a pond nursery there.

Oakland Nursery seems to have a fair number of water plants, but I don't know if they carry a wide range of plants.

Worth a call -- they can probably tell you where to find stuff they don't carry.

I also just got a note from DeMonye's saying their pond plants are in -- but they didn't mention what they are.

Alison, you're right about oakland nursery, they do have pond plants, they just weren't in yet. the sales people said in about a week as they were holding out for the frost date. Im just so eager!! I have yet to go to DeMonye's so I'll make a trip out. thanks

Please be aware that many "pond plants" are actually sold as tropicals or tender "land" plants--canna and taro being two. Creeping jenny, chameleon plant (very invaisive so watch it) are two others.

I can get black magic at Walmart, Lowe's, Home Depot as well as my local nurseries for far less than what I would pay if I went to a "pond store."

The minute that "pond" is put in front of the name of the plant, it seems that the price goes up.

Be aware that "taro" is frequently called "elephant ear" here.

Oh...and I cringe anytime I hear someone refer to "water canna". There's no difference between regular canna and "water canna.

Oakland Nursery has a selection of the usual pond plants. Nice stores.

Andersons has some also, not quite as many, but they have a good nursery, way better than normal box stores.

DeMonyes on the East side near the airport usually has something. A nice nursery for flowers and vegetables.

Aquarium Adventure, aquarium and pond store, has some pond plants (if in stock) and some absurdly overpriced junk Koi.

If you go to the Sawmill Road/Dublin-Granville Rd area on the Northwest side, you could hit Oakland Nursery Dublin, Aquarium Adventure, and Andersons all at the same trip, as they are all within a few minutes of each other.
