 o
Martha Washingtons in Bowling Green KY (Nashville area)?

Hi,

I just bought a beautiful Martha Washington geranium at Lowes. I got home to research how to care for it (it didn't come with an info tag) and found with dismay that it is supposed to be a cool weather geranium. Has anyone in this area had success with them? Tips?

Thanks!

I'm not sure of the name, but I bought a geranium last year from Lowes that looked like that one. Not the best flowering plant I've ever had, but it did last through the summer, flowering sporadically. I do remember it started flowering better when temperatures got a little cooler, but didn't think about it being the variety. No suggestions for you, I'm afraid, I loved the flowers, but I won't get it again. Just didn't work hard enough for me.

I put some out in big pots for my moother in late March, and they seem to be doing really well. But from what I've heard, they do tend to poop out in hot weather -- I'll let you know what I find.
