| A couple of years ago, I could have told you about Mr. Dayton, who ran the smaller of the two Dayton's nurseries. He got the roses in bareroot and started them along himself... you didn't get to buy them until Mr. Dayton felt that they were ready AND it was okay to plant them in NE Ohio. :) Sadly, he has since passed away. I couldn't find much of anything in the way of rose specialists when I was looking for someone who carried old garden roses. I'm going to mail-order a climbing 'Dortmund' from Mary's Plant Farm in Hamilton (near Cincy) and did look at a place called Rose Fire near Columbus (Edon, I think was the name of the town.) If I had time to do a road trip, I would visit these guys near Ann Arbor: |
