Darn ground ivy..

(darn isn't what I felt like saying)

I have been yanking this stuff up by the handfull in two of my gardens. Just when I think it might be under control (right..a fantasy - I know) this ground ivy rears his ugly head in my garden again. (I know - you have to get every teeny tiny piece of root out or it grows back)

This ground ivy and one particular thistle (I've been pulling it out for 5 years) are driving me crazy.

What's driving YOU crazy so far this spring??

..Beverly

Here is a link that might be useful: a picture of my enemy -Glechoma hederacea (ground ivy)

Much to my dismay, the lilies I received from a friend turned out to be ditch lilies. Those suckers are everyWHERE! I'm getting out roundup. I can't believe it!

ARRRRUUUGH.

I have decided where to grow gooseneck loosestrife and I am willing to put up with it to keep it in check. Problem is, there are two areas I need to eradicate it from and that's not going to be easy.

PLUS, I have a ton of dandelions and henbit this year - worse than last year. I'm out there spraying and pulling.

Hey! If gardening was easy, everyone would do it. I have so much ground Ivy and henbit that I could scream. If these were ornamental plants, they wouldn't grow. That's gardening.

Oh, that ground ivy is my worst enemy! My husband won't use a catcher on the lawn tractor so he keep re-propagating it when he cuts the lawn....and I have to keep pulling it out of the flower beds!

I know what you mean. And, my back's been "ticky & hurting" lately. I might have to hire some of the neighbor kids to pull this stuff out. It's rampant this year!!! Ugggggg!!
