| Does anyone know of a cheap source for limestone in KY? I am putting a walk path thru my woodland garden, and like the idea of a meandering path of native limestone. Any ideas besides driving up and down I-64, and grabbing it from the side of the road?? (I've considered that one!)

| You might want to try Lexington Cut Stone (in Lexington). They supply a lot of gardening contractors, but also sell to real people. |

| Visit just about any construction site (esp. new roads and subdivisions) where it typically is a waste material that just gets buried. Talk with the construction foreman and see if they'll even load you up. There is lots of free (but ungraded) limestone to be had in central KY, including the I-64 and I-75 corridors you mentioned. There is a new construction site on US 460 just east of I-75 northbound exit 125 in Georgetown. |
