A friend gave me some ferns she had just divided. I planted them and now wonder....should I cut back the tops and allow them to come back from the roots...or should I just leave them alone even though they are not attractive after being dug up and replanted? Your help would be appreciated...Thanks!

    It would depend upon which fern it is.Some can be cut back and do fine, while others should not be cut back. Post which fern you have and we will go from there.
