Deer and Ground Hogs

Hi all,
I have a 17' x 30' area, with a 4' fence around. I've got potato's planted around 3 sides, with corn at the other end. I'm planting 4 15' rows of green beans in the middle.
Previous years, deer and ground hogs feasted on the beans and some tomato's (with out the fence) this year I was thinking of installing a motion sensor light, with one light taken out and an inexpensive cassette player plugged in to the other socket with a sound effects tape ready to play with the sensor is tripped.
What is everyones opinion on this idea?
Thanks!

A little Celine Dion in the cassette player should do the trick! You might try a picture of Rosie O'Donell by your motion light. Its sure to scare away even the hungriest of varmit...I have considered a Rosie scare crow in my garden but decided it wasn't worth it. I'd rather lose the corn.
