rain lilies

During the White Oak Garden tour (suburb of Cincinnati) last year, I saw a pot of rain lilies. I would like to know if anyone has been able to successfully grow these in zone 6. How do they winter over? etc. All the information that I have tells me that they are for zone 7 and above. I sure would like to try them. Can anyone from the Cincinnati area add some advice?

My neighbor in Nashville, TN (zone 6) had them in her flower bed. They are also listed as suitable for zone 5 & 6 in the Winter Sowing Forum's FAQ section. Never tried them myself. Hope that helps.
