Soooo Tired of Rain

I've lived in the Ohio Valley long enough to know it rains nonstop every spring, but good grief! Enough is enough! Last year the rains washed away most of my corn seed. This year, I can't keep up with the weeds. I've really busted my you-know-what this year to reclaim my garden from the weeds, but I think it may be a losing battle. Seems like the only days it doesn't rain are the days I'm at church. By the time I get home it's almost dark and I'm a mosquito banquet.
On the plus side, my Mortgage Lifter & Brandywine plants that I bought are growing so fast that I'm tying them up daily. I wish the ones I started from seed would catch up. (I got a really late start this year.)
I wish my seeds grew as fast as the Cottonwoods do.

Apple,

I too am so tired of the (seems like near) daily rain. It kind of reminds me of Florida with near daily showers, and everything here looks very overgrown and tropical. I wish most of it wasn't weeds though. Today I plan to pull the tallest of them anyway.

Don't feel bad, I'm retired and can't seem to be able to make much headway with planting, weeding, dividing, and moving, preening, mulching, and forget about fertilizing and watering.

I know it is just a matter of a short while b4 the grass browns out, and I will be wishing for some rain, and heat relief.

Amen! Up here between Cleveland and Akron, we've been getting rain almost every day. Not just showers, but 1 to 3 inches at a time! Needless to say, there has been a LOT of flooding around here. I think the worse thing for me though, is the nightly thunderstorms. I myself love them, but my 5 and 8 y/o daughters won't stay in bed if there is thunder and lightning. My wife and I need a break!!!!

RE: Soooo Tired of Rain

Well, after 4 days of rain here last week, we finally had a sunny day Sat. Now the 2 week forecast is for temps in the mid nineties, high humidity for a while, and no rain in sight.

I'm sure the yard will finally brown out, (I think I'll be glad to see that) and I'll be ready to see some rain again.
