I saw a message posted about this plant before and I am not sure this is the name for it either. I have a link...its actually a virtual postcard but it looks exactly the way the one in my garden looks ! Can anyone tell me what exactly the correct name is?

Must be a sedum of some sort.

RE: Live Forever

Yes, it is an upright sedum of some sort.

There are several that it could be. Once it blooms it would be easier to try and maybe guess which one it might be. There are several that look similar, until they bloom.

A few of the more common upright ones are
Autumn Joy
Autumn Fire
Brilliant and Neon but there are oddles and oddles more.

I really like and want everyone that is hardy here...along with the low growing or creeping sedums too.

RE: Live Forever

Thanks guys...this year is the first year it has really taken off and WOW am I surprised! My neighbors keep coming into my yard to look at it! Thanks so much for the help, I will snap a picture when it blooms and maybe you can help me pinpoint which one it might be.

RE: Live Forever

You might want to get some pics of it during different times during the bloom cycle. With many (if not all) of them, the blooms will change color as the season progresses, and they may hold the key to a better identification.

Additionally, you might want to post them at the forum linked below. I imagine there are a lot of trained eyes there, and I'm hoping they can maybe help me with some identification of some NO IDs I have here.

This spring I got a sedum plant that was started from Neon Sedum seed. I 'think' Neon is a hybrid, so what I have will maybe be unique, and actually not have a name....like so many things grown from hybrid seed when they don't come true.

Every time I have heard "Live Forever Sedum", it's refered to Vera Jameson. Vera Jameson is, like stated above, an upright or bigleaf sedum.

Thank you, thank you. I referred to the Sedum I received from a co-worker and she looked at me like I was speaking Greek.
Guess Live Forever is a real old-fashioned name. Still it's very descriptive. And I was thrilled to get some.
