It is absolutely NOT too late to plant garden! You can plant beans, squash, cucumbers, really anything that takes 60 days or less to mature now until around August 1. In August you can plant turnips, spinach, greens, cabbage plants as well as broccoli and brussel sprouts. If you want a late crop of potatoes get them in the ground before July 4th. All winter squash need to be getting in the ground now. It's all up to you.

Last year it stayed warm through the beginning of October and I STILL had tomatoes growing in Central KY. I planted mine last year around June 2nd and by the end of October I had taken all the red and green tomatoes off the plants.. they sat on the counter and were eaten regularly up until a week before Christmas 2007!

Hello,
I live in southeast Ohio. I finally stopped raining and I tink it's somewhat dry enough to till. We have a huge garden area we have about six families that tend and use the benefits of this garden. This is the third forth year and the last 2 have been terriable. We have fertilized and ever thing.Last year Our Corn earred when the plant was only about 2 ft. tall. Our potatoes sweet and regular rotted in the ground and our peppers, tomatoes and Okra was the only thing that grew? I'm confused. If someone out there has lots or expeience and can give be idea's since I'm getting a late start PLEASE HELP!
