Celebrating the solstice today?

Posted by Alison 5/OH (My Page) on

My across-the-alley neighbors celebrate the solstices with a big fire in the back, loads of food and drink and socializing, and a "howl" after dark.

I'm taking little honey cakes and a bottle of mead someone gave me, since it is the "Honey Moon". I had hoped to celebrate the fact that I'd finally gotten everything planted -- but my neighbor just dumped 20 tomato plants on me! Oh well; more daylight to plant them today than ay other day of the year!

Anyone else marking the solstice?

20 tomato plants!!!!!! Eek gads...where will you put them? I am going to Hilliard Garden Club meeting tonight. In the summer it's at member's homes - for a look see. I'll mention it and hollar "whoop de doo".

I don't know if I'll ever get my all my plants in the ground.

Celebrate!!!! Beverly
