Man, my are green and sitting there looking pretty. I can't wait! I have harvested zucchini and yellow squash and made squash pickles last night. They are the marinated version, no truly canned, with sugar and vinegar and spices. 2 quarts! When the toms are ready, I'm thinking a trip to Carfagna's (italian deli) for some fresh mozz - oooh and some basil from winter sowing!!!!

That's WONDERFUL!!! As a little girl we would put our first full grown red tomato on a special platter and savor it as we shared. It was so special. Enjoy! I've picked about 6 sweet banana peppers and 2 cherry tomatoes. Yummy! I know many people around the Ohio Valley have had plenty of rain. But, here in Hilliard - have had narry a 1/4 inch in the past 4 weeks. Been watering - but, a long slow rain would surely help the gardens. ...Beverly

Well it wasn't exactly red. It was a Cherokee Purple so it was more of a purple/ brown. ;) It tasted great though. :) I have a ton of little current tomatoes on the vine waiting to become ripe. I think I will try drying a bunch of those. Tomasins!
