Lilies blooming late?

alison

I love Oriental lilies, and have them planted both at home and at work.

I had nice blooms on some of the plants back at the end of May. The rest of the plants developed beautiful, swollen buds, with that whitish cast they get right before they pop.

Unfortunately, they haven't done anything else for at least three weeks. Still fat and sassy looking -- but no sign they're going to bloom anytime soon.

One bed is on the north side of my house, with a little better than partial sun. The other bed is a south facing, fun sun bed at work. Both got a helping of rabbit manure this spring, and get decent water.

Anyone else noticing lilies blooming late, or going into stasis this summer? If they eventually bloom I really don't mind having Oriental lilies in July, it just seems a lot later than usual. (Or maybe mine have always bloomed early in the past, and this is normal?)
