Crocosmia-in zone 5?

I purchased two pots of blooming Crocosmia-I believe the selection in Lucifer and planted it in my zone 5 garden near red Pentas and Butterfly Bushes. The tag said they were hummingbird attractors. And they sure are. The hummers go crazy over them.

But here's my question-the north limit is usually zone 6. Anyone have any idea if they will overwinter in zone 5? What can I do to ensure they will survive? Or should the bulbs be dug and replanted in the Spring? Also, it looks like seed pods are forming where the spent blooms dropped off. Can these be saved and planted next Spring? Or should they be cut off?

Any comments are appreciated. Thanks!
