Can someone tell me if I have to wait until spring to trasplant spiderwort? I would like to move it, and plant something else where it is now.

Can you wait until fall? That's a good time to move plants and I have a whole list that I plan to transplant.

I don't think you can kill spiderwort. I just whacked mine all down, as it had entered the slimey stage. I'd move it now if you keep it watered.

Has anyone ever cut back spider wort to encourage a second bloom? I thought I heard something about it on Gardening by the Yard on HGTV. Usually, my husband just whacks it all down once the dog's trampled it and it has entered the slimey stage, like Jill said.

Not every spiderwort will rebloom. One that DOES rebloom is Sweet Kate. It's got yellow leaves and blue/purple flowers and it will rebloom. I love it!

Here is a link that might be useful: Tradescantia Sweet Kate

How long does spiderwort normally bloom? I've got plants that produce flowers all summer long, perhaps into the fall.
