garden changes color with season

Strange how I did not plan this, but my garden changes color with the season.

Spring is yellow and orange starting with witch hazel then daffodils.

Then, spring/summer it is all blues, lavenders, magenta, purple. Geraniums, sib. iris, baptisa, spiderworts to name a few.

Summer it's back to red/orange/yellow based with the hundreds of daylilies.

Fall is a mixture of reds, yellows and purples. Lots of spiderwort reblooming, coreopsis of all kinds, purple coneflowers. Joe pye weed in the fields with goldenrod.

Never a dull moment.

Enjoying the dayliles now. Not quite at peak bloom. Expecting a lot of visitors this weekend. That's always fun to see what people comment on... and I like to hear what they say about my seedlings.

I may not have a garden that's planned out like they do on HDTV, mine is more the "happy accident" type, but it all works somehow!

Jules - knee deep in daylilies! (up at 6 a.m. deadheading before visitors today! )
